Product Description

Reinforced Ultrafiltration(UF) for River Water Purification with 0.03um pore size

 

Ultrafiltration or membrane filtration is a water filtration technology based on membranes and pressure to separate particles in suspension and colloidal matter from water.

Nominal diameter of micropores in ultrafiltration membranes is around 0.03 μm, what provides a good balance between filtration and permeability and provides a barrier against bacteria and most virus.

Current quality standards for water supplies in drinking and industrial applications have increased the use of ultrafiltration (membrane filtration), which delivers higher filtrate quality than conventional sand, gravel and anthracite pressure filters.

Ultrafiltration is also widely used as a in integrated membrane filters as pretreatment to reverse osmosis plants, reducing the RO membrane fouling risk and before water disinfection. By physically removing bacteria and pathogens ,ultrafiltration can also reduce significantly the downstream Chlorine dosing.

The main benefits of ultrafiltration opposed to other conventional filtration technologies are:

  • Capacity to cope with variable feedwater quality, delivering a consistent filtrate independently of the feedwater characteristics
  • Higher filtrate quality than tradicional sediment filters: 0.1 NTU and 99.999 bacteria removal
  • Smaller plant footprint with up to 50% reduction compared to traditional media filters.
  • Simpler design than standard media filters
  • Lower chemical consumption and environmental impact than standard media filters
